Jhansi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Saturday had more than one reasons, though unconvincing, about the absence of Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga rejuvenation Uma Bharti from the state executive of Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh.

The two-day-long state executive of the party has been organized in Jhansi of Uttar Pradesh from August 6 to 7.

Reason cited by UP BJP President:

Keshav Prasad Maurya, the UP BJP Chief said Uma was not well and had sought his permission for not attending the day one of this state executive.

The absence of our union minister should not be made an issue, he said.

Kalraj Mishra says:

“She is a union minister. She may not have been able to attend it due to her busy schedule,” said Kalraj Mishra.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti says:

“I had talked to Uma ji a day before yesterday, she was ill. She is in contact with our state president,” said Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.

It may be pointed out that Uma is the Member of Parliament from the Jhansi constituency.
