Once `Divider-in-Chief` now 'United India' TIMES outlook changes for Modi

New Delhi: After bashing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his religion based politics and calling him 'India's Divider-in-Chief', Time magazine has published yet another article applauding the Indian leader for uniting the country again.

The article titled 'Modi Has United India Like No Prime Minister in Decades', claims that his win is a "victory for meritocracy, and for opportunity, thanks to a slate of welfare policies for the country’s extreme poor." The recently published article states that the Modi-led government through its socially progressive policies has been able to bring many Indians, both Hindus and religious minorities, out of poverty at a faster rate than its predecessors.

Written by Manoj Ladwa, founder and chief executive of the India Inc. Group, the opinion also praised Modi for jet starting clean drive, 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan', in which it claimed that the government more than delivered on its promises. The article not only credits him for stabilizing the volatile economy that he inherited from the Congress-led UPA government, but also lauds him for digital transformation.

"He has understood, like no other predecessor, how the much-admired tech skills of Indians can be used to transform society," the article reads.

In 2014, Manoj had led the Research Analysis & Messaging division of the Narendra Modi for Prime Minister campaign.

The weekly American news magazine ‘Time’ had featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi on its March addition cover page and referred to him as 'India's Divider-in-Chief'. Months later, after Modi once again formed government in the center with a massive mandate given to his party (Bharatiya Janata Party), the magazine published another article, this time lauding Modi for his commendably work and uniting India.
