Lucknow: Taking on the poor law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Friday said, "I did not plant the explosive inside the UP Assembly."

He made the remark after PENT explosive was found inside the UP Assembly earlier in the day on Friday.

After Azam, his son and SP legislator Abdullah Azam Khan also remarked, "Neither me nor my father brought the explosive in the UP Assembly."

Since the major security lapse has come into light, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the UP government have been facing criticism from opposition leaders for failing miserably in uplifting the poor law and order situation in the state.
