Lucknow: In a rebuff to expelled Bahujan Samaj Party leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui's serious allegations, party supremo Mayawati on Thursday termed former as a taping blackmailer and said, apart from EVM, he is also responsible for the defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

"I gave Naseemuddin Siddiqui responsibility for western UP in the elections but was told he is a big blackmailer. Naseemuddin Siddiqui used to "blackmail" party workers for money," said Mayawati in media briefing here.

Mayawati said that Siddiqui presented distorted recordings to the media and admitted that there is nothing new in the audio clips.

"The conversations presented before media people have been edited," said Mayawati.

She said Naseemuddin can cross any limits for money. Mayawati revealed that he took large amount of money belonging to the party.

"If he can record Party President's call and tamper it as per convenience then how can he be expected to fulfil responsibilities," said BSP supremo.

Calling Naseemuddin's allegations as baseless, Mayawati said she never said anything about Muslim community She further stated that Muslims even appreciated his decision of expelling Naseemuddin from BSP.

"I can never use such language against Muslims. Naseemuddin has put false allegations against me," said Mayawati.
