Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's roadshow concluded at Kashi Vidyapeeth which started from Pandeypur Chouraha here on Sunday. Thousands of people were seen flocking the streets and eagerly waited to get a glimpse of the PM.

Cheering crowd had welcomed the Prime Minister with Modi-Modi chant and also by singing Vande Mataram.

PM's roadshow, which was scheduled to begin at 3.00pm, was delayed by about couple of hours. The road show, which started from Pandeypur Chouraha, travelled through the Hukulganj, Choukaghat, Teliyabag, Patel Dharanmsala, Singh Medical Chouraha with BJP supporters raising slogans all through the 5 km route till MG Kashi Vidyapeeth.

PM Modi will also address a rally here.

It may be mentioned that Varanasi, along with six other districts will go to polls on March 8.

The BJP had won three of the five assembly seats from here in 2012 whereas the Samajwadi Party had won the remaining two.

In an attempt to woo the electorate in his home constituency, PM Modi, during his rally on Saturday, had asserted that the BJP government is committed towards making 'Uttam Kashi' by bringing its glory back.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who held a joint rally along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, will address three rallies in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Jaunpur.

Samajwadi President Akhilesh Yadav also will address a rally in Robertsganj city in Sonbhadra district.
