Mulayam to launch his UP assembly campaign from Shivpal's constituency
Lucknow: After a flip-flop, Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav finally spelled out his preference. He will launch his 'perosnal' election campaign from Jaswantnagar assembly constituency where his brother Shivpal Singh Yadav is the party candidate.
Mulayam may have tried to calm down the tempers by saying he will campaign for the party to help SP President and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav but his decision to start campaign from Shivpal's constituency narrates a different tale.
The senior Yadav has not campaigned so far even as the first phase polling is just 8 days away , his electioneering will start on February 9 in Jaswantnagar which is going to polls in third phase on February 19.
A Sp spokesman ,however, sought to downplay the whole thing when he said that Mulayam will campaign in many others constituencies at the instance of Akhilesh. It is just a coincidence that he is starting his campaign from Shivpal's constituency. On the other hand, Shivpal has also said that he is open to campaign anywhere his party asks him to go.
It may be recalled that Uttar Pradesh will have seven-phase elections from February 11 to March 8.
