Mulayam goes 'Mulayam' on SP-Congress alliance, will campaign after Feb 9

It may be recalled MSY was absent from the event when his son and Samajwadi party's newly appointed national president Akhilesh Yadav released the party's manifesto for the UP polls on January 22 last. Akhilesh, however, had posted a photo on social media, just after the event, featuring Mulayam Singh Yadav holding the manifesto and blessing his son and daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav has given the Yadav family feud another twist with his U-turn on campaigning for the SP ahead of the UP state polls.

Putting a soft attitude towards the SP-Congress alliance, Mulayam Singh Yadav has given nod to the idea of campaigning for both the parties as the Congress is now an ally of the former. The Samajwadi patriarch said that he would start campaigning after February 9.

"They are our ally so why would not I do it. I will be actively participating in the rallies after February 9," the former SP chief had said when asked that will he campaign for SP and Congress.

It may be recalled that few days earlier the SP patriarch had gone public with his deep resentment at the SP-Congress alliance but on Wednesday last he was heard stating that he will give his blessings to the assembly candidates of both the parties. When asked that would he be blessing the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and all assembly candidates of Samajwadi Party and Congress, Yadav said, 'Han Bilkul Kyun Nahi' (Yes, Why not?).

"He is my son after all," Mulayam Singh Yadav had stated.
