MLA Haji Irfan dies in a road accident in Bareilly

Bareilly: The ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bilari in Moradabad Haji Irfan was killed along with two others in a road accident in Badaun district on Thursday morning.

Haji Irfan was travelling to Saifai to attend marriage of son of senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav in his Fortuner car which skidded off the road killing the driver Farzaad Ali (34) and a party leader K P Singh on the spot. The MLA and his son were admitted to the district hospital from where they were referred to a speciality hospital.

He was declared dead at a hospital in Bareilly.

• Accident took place near Kachla on Bareilly-Agra road.
• The car lost balance due to tyre burst.
• It fell into a gorge resulting the death of driver and KP Singh on spot.
• The injured included his son Faheem, gunner Tahir, SP leader Rahul Jain, Saurabh Yadav and Amit Yadav.
