Ghaziabad: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Amar Singh on Saturday poured his heart out over the recent allegations made on him by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. Singh said, "I request Mulayam Singh to take permission from the party chief next time he plans to meet me."

Singh was speaking to reporters after casting the ballot at his constituency in Sahibabad. When asked who he voted for especially after the tiff between Akhilesh Yadav and him, Singh chose to keep mum but he added, "I still respect Mulayam Singh Yadav a lot."

What else Amar Singh said?

  • I am on a political 'vanvaas'.
  • If I meet Mulayam, people call me a conspirator. If I don't, media quizzes my relations with him.
  • For me, the situation is like "Aage Khai, Peeche Kuan".

Amar Singh's indirect attack on Akhilesh Yadav:

  • We live in a country where younger gives respect to elders.
  • Lord Rama went on Vanvaas for the sake of his father.
  • Shrawan Kumar carried his parents on his shoulders to take them to holy places.
  • But in my case, I was disrespected and even abused.
  • My image in Samajwadi Party is of a villain.
  • It is unfortunate that general meeting between Mulayam and me turned a topic of debate and I became the soft target of my own party members.
