Lucknow: In a sudden move, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Wednesday sacked party's National General Secretary Indrajeet Saroj and former MLA Radhe Lal Rawat for anti-party activities.

Where the party has accused both the leaders of disobeying the orders and indulging in anti-party activities, Saroj, who has earlier served as the Uttar Pradesh chief of BSP, accused Mayawati of demanding money (ranging from Rs 9 lakh to Rs 22 lakh) from all the constituency in-charges of the party across Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to the reporters after his expulsion, Saroj said, "Mayawati will ruin herself and the party in greed of money," adding, "The BSP supremo had called a meeting of all the party office-bearers of the state on July 8. In the meeting she said that she was in need of money and sought Rs 9 to Rs 22 lakh from every leader."

"I am a four-time MLA, but lost in the 2017 UP polls. I told Mayawati ji that neither am I interested in contesting elections nor have I money to give her. Later in another meeting, I was asked to give money and I refused again" he added.

"Mayawati ji called me and asked what had I said in the previous meetings. When I told her that I want to continue working for the party, but do not wish to contest polls, she immediately removed me from every post and threatened not to be seen in or nearby the party office," Saroj concluded.

Radhe Lal Rawat, however, has not yet responded to his sacking from the party.

It may be recalled that earlier, former BSP minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui had also levelled serious corruption allegations against Mayawati after being sacked from the party.
