Lucknow: Making light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Stand Up India campaign, BSP Supremo Mayawati today threw a spanner challenging the Central government to provide reservation for Dalits and tribals in government contracts and fill up their vacancies.

Dubbing the campaigns like Stand Up India and Start Up India as 'electoral gimmicks', she said Modi government was indulged in such practices since it was fast losing its credibility owing to its 'casteist, parochial and fundamental ideology.

''If Modi and his government are so concerned about Dalits, women and tribals ,they should provide them their dues sanctioned by the Constitution. ''Bahujan Samaj Party government in Uttar Pradesh had ensured reservation to Dalit contractors in government works.

Why not NDA government could do this,'' sheAll Posts asked. Mayawati said that the BJP government also followed the footsteps of Congress by denying deprived classes their lawful dues and failed to discharge its constitutional duties.
