Lucknow: Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee was sworn-in as chief minister of West Bengal for the second time on Friday. The second woman after J Jayalalitha to occupy this position Mamta took oath of office and secrecy along with 41 ministers.

A massive cut- out of the fiery lady adorned the venue where the entry was without passes. As many as 20,00 people are estimated to have attended the ceremony.

The event had some elements of surprise. It was not only attended by chief minister of Bihar and his mentor Lalu Prasad Yadav but chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav.

Participation of Tamil Nadu and Delhi Chief ministers and film actors Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan did not fall in that category. They were expected to attend it. The BJP was represented by finance minister Arun Jaitlye .

Although the TM has not opened its card yet Nitish and Co believe that she will also join the third front or grand alliance proposed by them to fight against the BJP. Lalu-Nitish combine visit is being read in this context.

Mamata, it may be recalled, had won , , the election, unexpectedly by a two-thirds majority .
