Maha Lok Sabha poll: Around 62% voting in 6 LS seats in 1st phase
In 2014, the polling percentage there was 72.31 per cent.
According to the state's Chief Electoral Office, the final polling percentage for Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha seat would be available on Saturday.
However, according to Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dilip Shinde, the initial voter turnout in the Naxal-hit region has been 61.33 per cent.
Shinde said there were incidents of firing and bomb blasts in Gadchiroli, where two jawans were injured.
"There were 4 polling stations where our parties could not reach and therefore voting could not take place. Whenever the Election Commission informs us, elections will be held there," he said.
In Wardha constituency, the final voter turnout was 61.18 per cent (64.79 per cent in 2014), while in Ramtek, it was 62.12 per cent (62.64 per cent in 2014).
Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency witnessed 54.74 per cent (57.12 per cent in 2014), while in Chandrapur, 64.66 per cent people came out to vote (63.29 per cent in 2014).
In Yavatmal-Washim seat, 61.09 per cent voters cast their franchise, up from 58.87 per cent in 2014.
