Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP puts forward name of this Dalit leader for debate with Rahul Gandhi

Two former judges of the Supreme Court and High Court and a senior journalist had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to come together for a public debate. He said that both the leaders should present their issues and views before the public. This was accepted by Rahul Gandhi. But BJP had said that when Rahul Gandhi is not the face of the post of PM, then how can there be a debate with him. Now BJP Yuva Morcha chief Tejasvi Surya has appointed a leader of the organization for a debate with Rahul Gandhi.

Tejashwi Surya has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi and nominated Abhinav Prakash on behalf of BJP on the invitation of public debate. Prakash is the national vice president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. He teaches in a college in Delhi.

Tejasvi Surya wrote on . His community numbers around 30 per cent in Rae Bareli. It will be a rich debate between a political scion and a common youth.

Surya has written, "This is the same constituency which your family has represented for a long time and where you are the current electoral contender."

Regarding Abhinav Prakash, Surya has written in the letter, "He is not only a distinguished leader of our youth wing, but also a vocal spokesperson of the policies and reforms implemented by our government. An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University and Assistant Professor of Economics at Ramjas College, University of Delhi, having previously taught at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, his deep understanding of social, economic and political dynamics enables him to significantly enrich the debate. Abhinav Prakash thanked Tejashwi Surya and said, "I want to thank Tejashwi Surya for appointing me to debate with Rahul. I am waiting for this debate. I am from Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi and his family have represented the state for so long. I hope he will not run away from the debate the way he ran away from Amethi."
