New Delhi: Assembly elections in Goa have been scheduled. The state's election will be placed on February 14 and the results will be announced on March 10. Despite the fact that all political parties are claiming the right to create their own government this time, political commentators anticipate that Congress will either become the biggest party or come close to achieving a majority, as it did the last time it was in power. In light of the present political climate in Goa, it is predicted that Congress would win 20 of the 40 assembly seats, while the BJP will be forced to settle for 15 seats. The Maharashtrian Gomantak Party is expected to win three to four seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party is expected to win one or two seats, according to polls. It is thought that the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party has forged an alliance with the Trinamool Congress in order to strengthen its position in the state. He seems to have consolidated his position and acquired more resources since the beginning of the year.

Goa Assembly Elections:

However, the estimates of better congress changes can only be proven right if the party provides fresh individuals a chance to run for office rather than fielding veteran actors in the political arena. In light of the tremendous rush that is now taking place inside the Congress, the party is not as weak as it seems to be in this state because if the BJP is unable to contain the anti-incumbency tsunami in the state, the Congress's task may be made simpler. It is also being claimed in support of Congress that if a government is to be established in the state, it must be wary of those who would take advantage of the situation.

Let us inform you that the Congress Party would be fighting the assembly elections in conjunction with the Goa Forward Party (GFP) this time around. Despite the fact that Congress is engaged in a primary electoral contest with the BJP, the Trinamool Congress is charged with the primary responsibility of undermining the BJP and is always searching for ways to shift the ground from beneath the Congress. As far as the BJP is concerned, the governing party recently presented a report card of its performance over the previous ten years, which is having an influence on a certain sector of the population, according to the ruling party. The alleviation of a double engine government is also considered vital by many to ensure the continuation of development in the state since development activities are hampered when there is a dispute between the Central and State governments.

Additionally, the enlightened elements of the BJP have begun the process of establishing public relations and explaining to the general public the significance of having a double-engined administration. Despite the fact that people in urban regions appreciate the need of a double-engine government, the situation in rural areas seems to be quite different. People in Goa, on the other hand, are acknowledging that the BJP has brought an end to the state's era of political uncertainty. The coalition government has been effectively led by two individuals: the late Manohar Parrikar and Pramod Sawant.

The BJP is hoping that the manner in which the BJP won the Zilla Panchayat, Municipal Council, and Municipal Corporation elections in Goa in 2021 would translate into continued success in the 2022 state assembly elections. This is the first election to be held in the absence of Manohar Parrikar after many years. Despite the fact that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has been able to keep the government's image clean, many senior party leaders still believe that they have been sidelined and elevated to the position of Chief Minister. As a result, many senior party leaders are advocating that they not contest elections under Sawant's leadership. Whether the BJP high command would fight the election by nominating Pramod Sawant for the position of chief minister is still up in the air. BJP believes that there is no anti-incumbency wave in the state and that the party would be able to establish the government for the third time in a row, according to the party.
