Gayatri Prasad Prajapati being treated as a terrorist: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday met former UP minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who is in jail for allegedly gangraping a girl.

After a half-an-hour-long meeting, Mulayam alleged that Gayatri has been intentionally framed in a factious lawsuit following a huge political conspiracy.

It may be recalled that earlier on Monday, Mulayam Singh Yadav had sought permission to meet the jailed SP leader, but the jail administration had denied permission citing unavailability of staff following Eid festival.

What else Mulayam Singh Yadav said?

  • Gayatri is being treated as a terrorist in the jail.
  • Will talk to the District Magistrate over the treatment he is being given in the jail.
  • He is facing these atrocities on orders from the government.
  • Fake stories are being spread to ensure injustice to Gayatri.

Speaking over the black flags shown to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the Lucknow University recently, Mulayam Singh said, "In a democracy, everyone has the right to show black flags to the CM," adding, "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state is practising vendetta politics, and I will talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the same."

It may be mentioned that Gayatri has been arrested in involvement with a gangrape case. The victim had alleged that the former UP minister gangraped her and sexually assaulted her daughter.

After the Supreme Court’s intervention, an FIR had been registered against Gayatri Prasad Prajapati and other accused.
