New Delhi: Speculation of election strategist Prashant Kishor joining Congress has intensified. It is expected that soon he can join the Congress party. But in the meantime there are some party leaders who are strongly against the inclusion of Prashant Kishor in the Congress.

G-23 Leaders meeting:

According to the information, an important meeting was held at Kapil Sibal's house on the day of Janmashtami. The leaders of the Congress's G-23 group had attended this meeting. Most of these leaders are not in favor of including Prashant Kishor in the Congress. May be all these leaders openly oppose Prashant Kishor. The leaders of this group are frustrated by the 'outsourcing' to take important election related decisions. However, some leaders also appeared in support of Prashant Kishor.

According to sources, during the meeting some leaders protested saying that Congress is a 135-year-old institution and not a start-up where someone comes up with fancy ideas and should be included.

Strategy would not work without West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin or Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. We have seen his effectiveness in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly election when he worked for the Congress-SP alliance. He further said that any proposal to include Prashant Kishor in the party should be discussed in the Congress Working Group meeting.

According to sources, on Monday, G-23 leaders met at Kapil Sibal's house and discussed the party's decision to appoint Prashant Kishor as general secretary. Apart from Kapil Sibal, many leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Bhupinder Singh Hooda were present in this meeting.
