UP FM Rajesh Agarwal signs first budget of Yogi Government
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal on Monday signed the first full budget of the Yogi government to be presented on Tuesday on first day of the Budget Session of Uttar Pradesh Legislature.
It could be recalled that the budget session of Uttar Pradesh legislature will commence on Tuesday with Yogi Adityanath government presenting its first annual budget in the state assembly.
The session will have about 15 sittings and is likely to conclude on July 28, according to an official statement from Principal Secretary of the Legislative Council Mohan Yadav. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister would attend an all party meeting on Monday evening.
All eyes will be on farmer’s loan waiver which was announced in the first cabinet meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government but could not be executed due to lack of budgetary allocations. It is being expected that the 2017-18 budget will include measures to eliminate additional resources to offload Rs. 36,000 crore meant for crop loan waiver.
It will also throw light on the utilisation of Rs. 34,000 crore required to meet expenses for implementation of the seventh pay panel’s recommendations.
It is to be mentioned that, the Assembly session was earlier held from May 15 to May 19, in which the State GST (Goods and Services Tax) Bill was passed unanimously.
