New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has filed an additional Rs 10 crore defamation suit against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday.

The case has been filed against the Delhi CM after Kejriwal's lawyer Ram Jethmalani called Jaitley a 'crook' in court. Ram Jethmalani used the statement 'guilty of crimes and crookery' for Arun Jaitley.

Matter is likely to be heard in Delhi High Court on Tuesday.

It could be recalled that the Delhi CM has already being sued by the FM along with five other party leaders on charges of criminal defamation. A Delhi court has started trial against him and on Saturday last and if convicted the CM could be sent behind bars for at least a year along with fine.

The criminal defamation complaint was filed in December 2015 by Jaitley in which he had alleged that Kejriwal and five AAP leaders made defaming statements against him regarding his tenure as the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president from December 1999 to December 2013.

The Finance Minister had also filed a civil defamation suit before the Delhi High Court seeking Rs 10 crore from Kejriwal for his allegations on the former during his DDCA tenure.
