New Delhi: Corona cases in the country is increasing day by day. In the view of this, the lockdown has been announced in many states. Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take emergency steps for the workers working in the construction sector in view of the corona virus crisis and to give them a certain amount of help.

Collection of Rs 49,688 crore for workers:

In a letter to Prime Minister Modi, Sonia Gandhi said that she had received information that the state boards meant for the welfare of construction workers had collected an amount of Rs 49,688 crore through cess till 31 March 2019 and out of this only 19,380 Crores have been spent.

Sonia Gandhi highlighted in the letter to the PM Modi that we are fighting against Corona pandemic. We need some special arrangements for the citizens of nation. We are facing financial problems, and working class of country needs our support.

Livelihood crisis in front of workers:

The Congress president said, "Now the future of more than 4.4 crore workers working in the construction sector is in the balance. Due to the stringent steps of closing the cities, a livelihood crisis has also arisen in front of many workers.

According to Sonia, several countries, including Canada, have put forward economic plans amid the corona virus crisis.
