Congress releases third list of 76 candidates for Gujarat polls

Gandhinagar: The Congress on Sunday night released the third list of 76 candidates for the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections. The names of these candidates were released for the second phase of elections, for which filing of nominations will end tomorrow. Congress general secretary Oscar Fernandes released the third list.

Seeking to clinch the government from the hands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the western state, the party had earlier announced the names of 86 candidates in the first and second list for the assembly polls. It is to be mentioned that, the Congress has been out of power in Gujarat for over two decades.

The elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 9 and 14.

The polling for the two-phase elections in Gujarat, having total 182 seats, will take place on December 9 and 14. Votes polled in the Gujarat assembly election will be counted on December 18.
