Lucknow/Agra: Samajwadi Party MP Sanjay Seth on Wednesday confirmed, while talking to newstrack.com, that party convenor Mulayam Singh Yadav will be present at the National Convention scheduled to begin on Thursday in Agra.

The suspense over Shivpal Yadav, however, continues as Seth refused to comment over his plans of attending the convention.

It is worth mentioning that the 'city of Taj' has always been lucky for Samajwadi Party, and all the top leaders of the party have already reached there to attend the convention beginning from tomorrow.

Significantly, SP president Akhilesh Yadav had called an executive meet before the national convention, which was expected to be joined by Mulayam Singh and Shivpal Yadav. They, however, did not turn up at the meeting.

Before the SP executive meet, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav held a press conference in Agra. On being asked if Mulayam Singh will join the national convention, he said, "I have personally requested him (Neta Ji) to come here. His blessings are with us."

Replying to the questions of his relations with uncle Shivpal Yadav, Akhilesh said, "Sometimes age and relations benefit us. My uncle (Shivpal) has not only blessed but has also congratulated me."

Among the SP leaders who have already reached Agra to attend the national convention are Akhilesh Yadav, General Secretary Ramgopal Yadav, national vice president Kiranmoy Nanda and Jaya Bachchan.
