BSP to form govt. in UP for the fifth time, claims Mayawati
Saharanpur: Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Saturday claimed that her party was going to form a majority government in Uttar Pradesh for the fifth time.
Addressing an election rally here, she said, "In our government, we will ensure such security arrangements for women that they would be able to walk around on the roads even at night without any tension," adding, "The people who misbehave with women will be sent behind bars."
She promised to send all types of criminals, mafias and goons to jail once BSP forms government in the state.
Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre, Mayawati said, "They have not yet fulfilled one fourth of the promises they made during the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaigns."
She also condemned the Samajwadi Party government in the state saying that they have changed the names of the government schemes undertaken by her previous government.
Slamming the various opinion polls, surveys and media reports which have ranked BSP at the third position in UP poll results, the BSP supremo said, "All these results will prove fake when the election results will be declared on March 11. BSP is going to emerge as the single largest party in the state for sure. Votes in huge numbers have come in favour of BSP in the first phase of polling."
She criticised the ruling SP government for providing poor quality mid-day meal in the government schools, saying, "After coming to power, BSP will ensure that the children are being given milk, biscuits, eggs and good quality food in their mid-day meal."
She assured to address the problems of the police, administrative officers and other government employees. "Women government employees, whether they belong to police, education sector or other government departments, will be posted in the same region as of their husbands'," she said.
