BJP will probe mining scam in UP if comes to power: Keshav
Lucknow: In a sensational allegation, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that a scam to the tune of one lakh crore had taken place in the mining sector in Uttar Pradesh.
“BJP will initiate a comprehensive probe into this if it comes to power in Uttar Pradesh,” BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya told newsmen on Saturday here. Everyone knew that UP Mining Minister Gayatri Prajapati has been involved in shady practices but no action was taken so far, he said. Adding, who is a protecting him is for everyone to see.
Maurya said that the large scale bungling and illegal mining is being reported from almost every district of the state. As per an estimate, it amounts to a scam of not less than Rs 1 lakh crore which stands to investigation, he further alleged.
Pointing out about a recent incident in Mahoba district, where four mine labours were buried alive, the BJP chief said that the license of the mine had been cancelled two years ago but owing to political connections mining continued. ‘BJP demands thorough action in this case,” he added.
