Lalu Prasad Yadav to face trial in all fodder scam cases: SC

Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party which cannot forget and forgive former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for twisting the statement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on backward caste reservation to his advantage in assembly elections two years ago has decided to launch an aggressive campaign against him this month.

The week-long campaign named Pol Khol will begin from May 15. During the campaign party workers will fan into different parts of the state and " expose" Lalu and his family by " highlighting" the recent acquisition of properties including land for the largest mall in the state.

The party has already selected volunteers for over 63,000 booths . They will be additionally used for the expose'.

Occasional mention will be made during this period of Nitish Kumar, chief minister, who is " following" his Raj Dharma by not taking any action against these "fraudulent" deals which were made by using loopholes in the company's laws.

One of the family's recent suspicious deals was transportation of soil to the zoological park in Patna taken out of land which is being dug out for construction of the mall. It was supplied without inviting tenders which is against the present rule. An official inquiry has confirmed that this rule was not followed in this case.

Acquisition of property in Delhi in a posh locality is the other issue to be highlighted during the campaign. The party alleges that the property was acquired by a shell company and later transferred to the family for a song using certain escape routes provided in the law.

The party will also raise the issues related to properties " gifted' by some party men allegedly for ministerial berths. Names linked are those of Raghunath Jha and Kanti Singh who have given properties worth crores of rupees as "gift " to his two sons.
