Lucknow: Trying to recover from some unnecessary anti- dalit rants by some of the party men, the Bharatiya Janata Party has planned a mega 'dalit rally' in Lucknow to be addressed by party President Amit Shah.

The rally named as 'Manavta Sadhbhav Samaroh' has been aimed to woo the dalit community afresh ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. The arrangements for the same have already been started and some fifty thousands dalits are likely to participate in the rally sometimes in the later half of September.

The plan:

  • The basic purpose of the rally to bring home the message that saffron party cared a lot for the neglected section of the society.
  • BJP will hammer the ideology of 'sabka vikas, sabka saath' thereby asserting it will always remain with dalits and deprived.
  • The party also planned a community feast in which members of all communities will sit together.
  • It will help to repair the damage done by leaders like Dayashankar who was later expelled from the party for his anti-Maywati slur.
  • The strategy of the BJP is to win back the support of dalits which have always been inclined towards Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party.
  • Some of the party members of parliament have been assigned the task to mingle with dalits.
  • The pro-active schemes of Modi government will be publicised among dalits.
  • The ongoing Baudh Dhamm Chetna Yatra is also part of this long-drawn strategy.
  • Chetna Yatra will culminate at Lucknow next month.

The final date of the rally is to be announced very soon which will be attended by many senior leaders and ministers along with Amit Shah. The BJP is upbeat over the expected support of dalits in the coming elections especially after party's grand performance in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The party had already made some inroads into traditional BSP vote bank but for some incidents in UP and other parts of the country as temporary set -backs.
