BJP registers FIR against former MP CM Digvijaya Singh

An FIR has been filed against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. This FIR has been registered by Bhopal Crime Branch.

BJP registers FIR against former MP CM Digvijaya Singh

Bhopal: An FIR has been filed against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. This FIR has been registered by Bhopal Crime Branch. The case has been registered by the Crime branch with a video of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Digvijaya Singh is alleged to have shared a fake video of Shivraj. BJP had complained to the crime branch.

FIR against Digvijaya Singh under sections 465, 501 and 500:

On the complaint of BJP, Bhopal Crime Branch has filed FIR against Digvijay Singh under sections 465, 501 and 500. Digvijaya Singh shared a video of Shivraj Singh Chauhan from his Twitter handle. Based on this video, Digvijay Singh has been accused in other sections including defamation, codification.

A complaint was lodged against Digvijaya Singh by other BJP leaders including former ministers Umashankar Gupta, Vishwas Sarang, Rameshwar Sharma and district president Sumit Pachauri. It is reported that on 21 January 2020, Shivraj himself shared a 2.19 minute video on Twitter. After this, Digvijaya cut the video of Shivaraj and shared a 9 second video.

Digvijaya Singh tweeted a video of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Twitter on Sunday. Along with this video he wrote the caption 'Liquor shops opened but lockdown at temples and places of worship. Wow, my uncle "drink so much, what to say". However, this tweet was later deleted.

After this tweet, a delegation of BJP leaders reached the Crime Branch office. A written complaint was lodged with the police. Along with this, criminal cases were filed against former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh and demanded necessary action. The FIR has been filed by the Crime Branch on BJP's complaint.
