UP CM Akhilesh off to London: BJP asks why London again

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked a pertinent question from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilsh Yadav- why such frequent visits to London.

UP CM who is off to yet another visit to London from June 29 to July 4 with, perhaps, his close friends, is faced with this question from the BJP. In the past also, CM Akhilesh had been to London on few occasions, unofficial at times.

“The Chief Minister should divulge about his repeated visits to London, specially this time when the law and order in Uttar Pradesh is at the lowest ebb and condition of farmers is far from being satisfactory,’’ the state BJP spokesman Chandra Mohan said here on Friday. He said that the CM is liable to reply as to what step he has taken to improve the lot of farmers and also on the law and order front.

The UP CM was seemingly very impressed with the condition of farmers abroad but why did not he do anything worthwhile for them in Uttar Pradesh, he pointed out. The BJP alleged that following his footsteps, several ministers and bureaucrats have visited abroad.

Going to the extent, the BJP has urged the Samajwadi Party government in the state to issue a ‘White Paper’ on the foreign trips of Chief Minister, Ministers and Officers. “How much money has been spent on foreign trips and what the state has achieved from these,” the BJP asked.
