Modi vs Sonia in Uttar Pradesh: BJP plans rally in Gandhis' constituency

Rae Bareli: In a reaction to Sonia Gandhi’s recent road-show in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned to organise a massive rally, in either Congress chief’s constituency Rae Bareli or Rahul Gandhi’s constituency Amethi, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the party insiders, the district party presidents in the two constituencies were called to the BJP office in Delhi to take the plan forward.

Rally plans discussed with the district presidents:

Uma Shankar Pandey, district president of Amethi, stated that the party authorities have discussed the plans for the rally which might be held in October.

“We have to give a strong reply to the Congress, which held a road-show in the PM’s constituency. The rally will be held either in Rae Bareli or Amethi,” said Pandey.

Smriti Irani may play an important role in BJP rally:

The party sources said that Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani will play a major role in the rally's plan.

It may be recalled that PM Modi had earlier addressed a rally in Amethi during the Lok Sabha elections when Smriti Irani had contested the election against the Congress Vice President. The rally, however, had failed to give positive results to the party as Irani had lost the LS election against the latter.
