The rebels have given sleepless nights to the BJP in the assembly elections. After failing to persuade many of them not to contest the official nominees, the BJP has decided to adopt a strict attitude against them.
According to the reports, the party has made up its mind that those leaders who have not withdrawn their nominations even after requests from senior leaders and who are still campaigning against the party, will never get entry into the party. BJP's election in-charge Pralhad Joshi has clearly indicated this.
In fact, even after the process of withdrawal of nominations was completed, BJP had given one day's time to the rebels to return back to the party. But many leaders did not return and are still rebelling and supporting BJP candidates. Election in-charge Joshi has also discussed this matter with National President JP Nadda. If this is strictly followed then the doors of BJP will be closed forever for the rebel leaders contesting the elections.
Chandrabhan Akya, the current MLA had defeated the BJP candidate from Chittorgarh, Narpat Singh Rajvi. The party tried to persuade him, but he did not agree and did not withdraw his nomination.
Similarly, Yunus Khan is also contesting as an independent candidate from Didwana seat. Priyanka Chaudhary is contesting from Barmer assembly seat and Kailash Meghwal is contesting from Shahpura seat. Including these, around 22 big leaders are contesting the elections.
BJP may have made up its mind not to take back its rebels, but the party has kept the doors open for turncoats. Be it Girraj Singh Malinga or Subhash Miles. There are many leaders who left Congress and joined BJP and the party also fielded them.
Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the next six months. The party is apprehensive that there are some rebels who may harm the party in the assembly elections and will try to join the party again just before the Lok Sabha elections. That is why this strict stance has been adopted.
