New Delhi: In the midst of the Corona crisis, the nomination process for the first phase in Bihar starts on Thursday. By the time of the begining of the nomination process, the screws over the seat-sharing in the NDA and the opposition grand alliance have not been resolved.

First round of nomination in Bihar:

The round of meetings continued till late night on Wednesday to resolve the seat-sharing dispute but a final decision could not be made.

The issue of seat-sharing in the NDA has been confounded by the LJP chief Chirag Paswan, while the two major parties of the opposition grand alliance, RJD and Congress, have started a dispute over seats.

Nominations of 71 assembly seats:

Nominations will be filed for 71 assembly seats in 16 districts in the first phase. October 8 is the last date for filing nominations for the first phase, while names can be withdrawn by October 12. The first phase will be held on October 28.

The prestige of both the RJD and Nitish Kumar-led NDA is at stake during the first phase of voting as the fate of seven ministers of the RJD as well as seven ministers of the Nitish government will be decided during this period.

Allocations of seats in NDA:

To resolve the seat-sharing dispute in the NDA. The central leadership of the BJP first held discussions with the state leadership. Now being discussed with other constituents of the NDA. Bhupendra Yadav and Devendra Fadnavis have reached Patna to have a final discussion with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Talking to LJP chief Chirag Paswan in Delhi is being made to prepare him to remain in the NDA. Informed sources say that the allocation of seats in the NDA will be announced in a day or two.

NDA discussions:

On Wednesday, the top leadership of the BJP remained busy in resolving the seat-sharing dispute. BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda discussed the issue of marking seats. Also speeding up the election campaign during a meeting lasting nearly three hours.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, General Secretary-in-charge Bhupendra Yadav, Organization General Secretary BL Santosh in meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, Election In-charge Devendra Fadnavis and State BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal were also present in this important meeting.
