Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari appointed as BJP's Delhi chief

The famous Bhojpuri actor and singer Manoj Tiwari has been appointed the new president of the Bhartiya Janata Party's Delhi unit, replacing Satish Upadhyay. Tiwari is a Lok Sabha member from North-East Delhi.

New Delhi: In two important appointments, the Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Wednesday appointed new state party Presidents of Bihar and Delhi with immediate effect.

The famous Bhojpuri actor and singer Manoj Tiwari has been appointed the new president of the BJP's Delhi unit, replacing Satish Upadhyay. Tiwari is a Lok Sabha member from North-East Delhi.

The 45-year-old actor turned politician has a huge following among the migrant Bhojpuri speaking voters from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in the national capital. He is considered as the eastern face of the party.

The announcement was made by BJP national President Amit Shah on Wednesday. Another Member of Parliament Nityanand Rai was appointed as the chief of the party's Bihar unit by Shah. Rai, 50, is a Lok Sabha MP from Bihar's Ujiarpur constituency.
