Lucknow: Amar Singh, the larger than life persona politician, was amongst the seven candidates who filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Beni Prasad Verma, Sanjay Seth, Surendra Singh, Sukhram Yadav, Vishambhar Yadav and Revati Raman Singh were the other candidates who filed their nominations.

Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders like Shivpal Singh Yadav and Ramgopal Yadav were also present during the occasion but Azam Khan skipped the event.

SP skips muslim candidates:

  • It was the first time that SP did not nominate any candidate from the Muslim community to Rajya Sabha.
  • SP Chief Mulayam, however, nominated Bukkal Nawab for legislative council.

Ram Sunder Das Nishad, Balram Yadav, Jagjivan Prasad, Yashwant Singh, Yashwant Singh, Bukkal Nawab, Kamlesh Pathak, Shatrudra Prasad and Ranvijay Singh filed their nominations for the legislative council.
