Akhilesh Yadav took Mulayam's blessings after EC verdict

Lucknow: Amid the ongoing feud between the father and son, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday took blessings from Mulayam Singh Yadav after EC allotted the party symbol 'Cycle' to him.

Sources close to the CM said that Akhilesh touched the feet of his father and took his blessings soon after EC pronounced its verdict in favour of UP CM-led faction of Samajwadi Party.

According to the political sources, the UP CM also said to his party workers that the upcoming assembly elections would be contested under the guidance of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"Akhileshji spoke to us after the verdict and said that Netaji is and will always remain the face of Samajwadi Party and we would go to the 2017 assembly polls under his guidance," a source close to the CM stated.

It may be recalled that an emotional Mulayam had on Sunday said that Akhilesh has been playing into the hands of Ram Gopal Yadav and will realise his folly only after it is too late in the day.

Mulayam said, "I am saddened that my son Akhilesh did not have the basic courtesy to speak to me in a proper manner which clearly shows how misguided he is at the moment."

Meanwhile, EC's decision is a big jolt to Mulayam and his supporters who were confident that the election body would rule its verdict in their favour.
