Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the functioning of police and government by tweeting about the Vikas Dubey's encounter. Akhilesh has questioned in his tweet the accident in which Vikas Dubey was brought from Ujjain to Kanpur.

Vikas Dubey shot dead by UP STF in encounter:

After the killing of eight policemen in Kanpur, absconding gangster Vikas Dubey was coming with UP STF from Ujjain to Kanpur. Vikas Dubey, who was trying to escape on the way, was killed by the police in an encounter. According to the information, the UP STF convoy carrying Vikas Dubey overturned. During this time Vikas started fleeing, then the police killed him in an encounter. According to eyewitnesses, they heard the sound of gunfire after the accident. Based on that, Vikas is said to have died.

In the Tata Safari vehicle in which Vikas Dubey was being brought, there were three STF personnel. Vikas was sitting in the back of the car and two STF personnel were sitting on both sides.
