Lucknow: The drama at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's official residence seems to be increasing after Samajwadi Party leader Arvind Singh Gope accused Amar Singh of conspiring against him for his elimination from the UP assembly candidate list.

Gope, who went emotional at the party meeting held at 5 Kali Das Marg (5 KD) on Thursday stated that he did not get the party ticket because of Amar Singh and Beni Prasad. He also alleged that SP state president Shivpal Yadav did not want him to contest the 2017 UP assembly elections.

What Arvind Singh Gope said:

  • I had won the last assembly elections of the state from Barabanki constituency.
  • Beni Prasad and his supporters had lost their seats against me. They are now taking the revenge.
  • Netaji had asked me to win every single seat from the constituency as he wanted to teach Beni a lesson.
  • I supported Mulayam Singh Yadav at every step of the 2012 elections and now he eliminated me to support Amar Singh and Beni Prasad.
  • This step has put my reputation at stake.
