Lucknow: Lambasting former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Union Minister Uma Bharti on Saturday said the former played politics and delayed the clean Ganga project by eight months.

Several important issues were raised during two-hour long press conference.

She said that the NGT will meet soon to discuss ways to deal with the situation and come out with a solution with regard to cleanliness.

She alleged that the Akhilesh Yadav government had committed frauds in the Gomti River Front scheme.

Umar Bharti said the cost of the project has gone high and even then river is unclean

Expressing her opinion on Triple Talaq, she said, "Reading Kuran or going to Haj is not a contract but Nikah (marriage) is a contract because in it you find agreement of the girl. For this reason, this is not a matter of religion but of law." she said.

Uma Bharti said construction of grand Ram Mandir is "my aim" and for this she is even ready to sacrifice her life.

She said that the matter is in the Supreme Court which will decide on the issue.
