Lucknow: Sniffing power in the wake of internal conflict in the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, BSP supremo Mayawati on Friday said that the recent 'financial' decisions taken by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would be probed into if her party came to power in the state.

''There are lots of questions about timing of many such decisions which are prompted as the UP assembly polls are nearing,'' she said while pointing out the hike in the honorarium of gram pradhans and distribution of utencils as some of the dubious decisions.

The Bahujan Samaj Party President said that many such 'financial; decisions would be subjected to investigation if BSP came to pwoer in Uttar Pradesh. Such gimmicks were being taken to divert the people's attention from the failed law and order and lack of people-oriented development, she added.

Welcomed High Court's observation of Dengue

  • The former UP CM welcomed the observation of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on failure of state government to control menace of Dengue.
  • The state machinery failed miserably while the CM had been busy in thrashing out his family issues.
  • The SP government should immediately declare Dengue as 'epidemic' and the legal action should be taken against the responsible officials.
  • The state government had agreed to 113 dengue deaths in the state while in Lucknow alone there are reports of 219 causalities.

Mayawati went on to say that the UP CM had to take some time off from his 'family feud' to look at the people of his state and spend his time to pro-people endeavours.
