AAP suspends Alka Lamba over her controversial remarks
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Alka Lamba has been suspended for two months on Tuesday over her bold remark against Transport Minister Gopal Rai, where she alleged the latter that he had been relieved of the transport ministerial portfolio to certify a fair investigation into the Premium Bus Service scheme.
Lamba, however, said that if she had made a mistake unknowingly, then she is ready for an apology.
Earlier, Gopal Rai had given up his seat due to health issues on June 14.
Gopal Rai when asked about Lamba’s allegations, he said that he had recently undergone a surgery and corruption charges are nothing more than rumours.
Former transport minister also clarified the following on micro-blogging site Twitter.
कई लोग ये झूठ फैला रहे हैं कि मैने प्रीमियम बस की वजह से इस्तीफा दिया!इस स्कीम में न कोई भ्रष्टाचार हुआ है और ना इसकी वजह से इस्तीफा दिया!
