Just before the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced the 'Ambedkar Samman Scholarship' scheme. Under this, the expenses of Dalit students studying abroad will be borne. Kejriwal announced this scheme and said that I am a devotee of Ambedkar. Taking a dig at Amit Shah, Kejriwal said that today the Parliament exists because of Ambedkar's constitution. He never thought that in independent India, any leader and party would make fun of him in this way inside the Parliament. We openly condemn this. Ambedkar has given the highest importance to education. He said that only education can make everyone stand equally.

Kejriwal further said that we know that in Ambedkar's time there was a lot of untouchability, they were made to sit outside the class. I want that today no child of Dalit society should be deprived of getting higher education due to lack of money. If a Dalit child applies for studies in any top institute of the world, the Delhi government will bear all his expenses. We will support him in any institute of the world if he wants to study. This scheme will also be applicable to government employees. If any child of a government employee coming from the Dalit community wants to study in a top institute in the world, then all his expenses will be borne by the Delhi government.
