75% Students could not appear in JEE Exam in Bengal: CM Mamta Banerjee

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has attacked the Modi government of the Center for conducting the JEE-NEET test amid corona virus. Mamta Banerjee said that 75 percent students of the state are not able to participate in medical and engineering entrance exam.

She attacked the central government, claiming that only 25 percent of the candidates of West Bengal could appear in the JEE examination held on Tuesday and the arrogance of the Center is responsible for this.

Students are in trouble: Mamta

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the students are in a lot of trouble. Many of them have not appeared in the JEE examination. Therefore, we had requested the Center to appeal to the Supreme Court or to re-review the case so that no student could be deprived of it.

She said that the state government had made all the arrangements for the students, but on Tuesday only 1,167 children took the exam, whereas a total of four thousand 652 students were to attend it.

Mamta Banerjee said that only 25 percent of the students in West Bengal took the JEE examination, while 75 percent failed to appear for the exam. We had arranged according to the instructions (of the central government).

Mamta Banerjee attacked the Center and said that if the paper was postponed for a few more days, what would have gone wrong? Why so much ego? Why are you (center) so stubborn? She asked who gave you the right to ruin the future of students?
