Vada Pav is a famous street food in India, especially in Mumbai.
Not only the Mumbai, almost every person going there from other cities definitely tastes the Vada Pav of Mumbai once.
But do you know the story behind Vada Pav?
It is said that Vada Pav was invented about 54 years ago.
In the year 1966, a person named Ashok Vaidya from Mumbai prepared this dish for the first time.
It is said that he had set up the first stall of this new dish at Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai.
In the 1970s and 1980s, when many mills in Maharashtra started closing down, many people working here set up Vada Pav stalls at different places in the state.
He was encouraged for this work by Maharashtra's political party Shiv Sena.
No doubt, the Portuguese brought Vada Pav to India in the 17th century. But the way of making Vada Pav was completely Indian.
