Temples are so sacred that many people do not even eat garlic or onion, let alone non-veg, before going there.
But, there are many temples in the country where non-veg food is offered to the Lord and its prasad is given to the devotees.
In the Jagannath temple of Puri, Mahaprasad is offered to Goddess Vimala before offering it to the Lord.
During Durga Puja, goat is sacrificed in Vimala Devi temple and fish is also offered.
In the temple of Muniyandi Swamy of Madurai located in Tamil Nadu, chicken and mutton biryani are distributed as prasad.
