New Delhi: The petrol prices on Wednesday were increased by Rs. 1.34 per litre and diesel rates by Rs. 2.37 per litre. The change in the fuel prices will be effective from midnight.

"The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision," Indian Oil Corp (IOC) said in a statement.

Petrol per litre will cost Rs. 66.06 while diesel rates will be 55.04 from midnight.

Earlier, petrol prices were hiked by 14 paisa while diesel prices were increased by 10 paisa.
