Pay Rs 70 lakhs and become a DM in Uttar Pradesh
Basti: National Integration Department Secretary Ashok Kumar on Friday said that one could allegedly become a district magistrate in the state by paying a bribe of Rs. 70 lakhs.
He is here to review the government operated schemes in the state. The meeting will end on Sunday. Kumar was vague and did not mention any name in this connection while talking to media persons.
“I did not have Rs. 70 lakhs otherwise I would have also become a DM. I did not want to be a Commissioner", he said.
According to him, one who greases the palm gets posted in the district, if not he is posted at headquarters.
At the meeting in Vikas Bhawan, Ashok Kumar warned subordinates against politicking. The meeting was attended, among others, by DM Narendra Singh Patel.
