IPL 10: Marlon Samuels replaces Quinton de Kock in Delhi Daredevils
New Delhi: West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels has been roped in to replace injured South African wicket-keeper-batsman Quinton de Kock in Delhi Daredevils (DD) for the remaining part of Indian Premier League.
Quinton de Kock missed the tenth season of the cash-rich league following an injury to his right index finger which he sustained during the New Zealand tour last month.
Confirming the same, Indian Premier League in an official statement said, "Delhi Daredevils has contracted West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels to replace injured Quinton de Kock for the remaining part of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017."
The 35-year-old cricketer, who has represented West Indies in 71 Tests, 187 One-Day Internationals and 55 T20Is, has played for defunct IPL franchise Pune Warriors in 2013 edition of the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that Samuels remained unsold at the IPL auction 2017, with a base price of INR 100 lakhs.
