IPL 10: Dwayne Bravo not to return to Gujarat Lions squad

Rajkot: The things worsened for Gujarat Lions, which is already struggling right at the bottom of the IPL 10 points table, when it was confirmed that its frontline all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will not make a comeback in the ongoing Indian Premier League season 10.

The Suresh Raina-led squad, which got some respite in IPL 2017 by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in the last match, has been majorly jolted by the news that the star West Indian Twenty20 specialist has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury.

The disheartening news was conveyed by Gujarat owner Keshav Bansal through a tweet, which was later corroborated by skipper Suresh Raina during the toss presentations.

Gujarat, which topped the table in IPL 2016, is right at the bottom this year with just two wins out of six matches played so far. The team, which is looking to gain momentum after winning the last match against KKR needed Bravo badly for the cause.

In last year's IPL, Dwayne Bravo had bagged 17 wickets with the best figures of 4/22. Apart from the last year, he has been amongst the most consistent performers of the sport over the years. He was an integral part of Chennai Super Kings, which was led by MS Dhoni.

He has 122 wickets in the 106 IPL matches played so far.
