Lucknow: T Venkatesh Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh has been relieved by the state government for central deputation.

The 1988-batch IAS officer of UP cadre will take over as Deputy Executive Director of Tobacco Board in Ministry of Commerce and Industries Government of India.

He is the first among the senior IAS officers to proceed on central deputation after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government took over in the state.
