Meerut: The lawyers of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh are up in arms against senior IAS officer and District Magistrate B Chandrakala who got an advocate arrested on the charge of indecent behaviour with her in office.
The incident took place on Thursday when advocate Sharad Jain, who is legal advisor of Jaswant sugar mill, had gone to meet her in connection of a court order in the favour of his client company.
During his conversation, the DM got angry at something and called the police to get him arrested. As the news spread, the agitated lawyers started gathering at Civil Lines police station where he was detained. Subsequently, he was released from the police station.
The Station Officer (SO) of Civil Lines police station said that no written complaint had been made in this regard.
It may be recalled that B Chandrakla had got arrested a youth when he was taking selfie with her during her tenure as DM of Bulandshehr.
