Lucknow: Does the government post the worst officers in the state capital Lucknow? If not then why after District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the heads of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Lucknow Nagar Nigam have been reprimanded in the Chief Minister's review meeting.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday held the meeting with regards to redressal of public grievances and LDA and Nagar Nigam of Lucknow were found to be among the worst performing authorities and Nagar Nigams respectively.

The Vice Chairman (VC) of LDA along with heads of other authorities like of Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Meerut, Jhansi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur and Agra and Gautambudh Nagar had been asked to give explanation, an official spokesman said. Similarly, Commissioner of Lucknow Nagar Nigam along with Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jhansi, bareilly, Allahabad and Saharanpur were also required to furnish their explanation on their poor performance.

It was followed by DM and SSP of Lucknow who were found to be lax in redressal of public grievances.

It raised a natural question if in the state capital, the officers are not posted on merit or if this has been the case, what criterion is followed in their postings.

The recent review meetings found almost all the big cities lacking in the administration.
